ABOUT

Non * Ÿna  noun (among Italian speakers) a person’s grandmother.

A Nonna is so much more than a grandmother; she is, in every sense of the way, the matriarch of the family who imparts wisdom, tough love, kindness and a whole lot of great food for her family and friends. New Age Nonna is a modern take on providing the insight, wisdom and expertise on wine, food and living the good life.  It is about bringing people together to share stories and build relationships over a good bottle (or two) of wine and some great food.

My name is Danielle Campana and I am New Age Nonna. I started my career in Public Relations for the Federal Government, managing ministerial events and writing news releases. From there, I moved on to work  at McMaster University, managing senior leadership training. I also spent over a year as a consultant in large organizational change management; growing a business through business development by 80%. I believe each and every experience in my career has taught me something key to my business today.

I began studying wine intensely 5 years ago, but have been a foodie all my life. I have successfully completed my WSET Level 3 and the Introductory Sommelier Exam with the Court of Master Sommeliers.

I grew up making homemade wine in my Nonna's basement; making pasta from scratch and going out to the garden to see what we could make for dinner, based on what was ripe and ready.

There is nothing I enjoy more than hosting a dinner party, matching wine with each course, and enjoying great company. I am the "Nonna" of my friends and family, sharing advice and support for everything life throws at us. If you want to enjoy some company of your friends, drink some great wine, eat something delicious, and learn something new, join me!
